Does anyone else suffer from this?

Living with O.C.E.A.N. Syndrome

Just recently, after years of research, I have finally been able to give a name to what my wife and I have been living with for years. It’s an affliction, for sure, which when undiagnosed and misunderstood can devastate and literally tear a family apart. Very little is known
About O.C.E.A.N. Syndrome. But it is my hope this article will generate interest from researchers involved in the equine and
Psychological sciences. You will, no doubt, begin to identify similar
symptoms in your own family and hopefully now be able to cope.

OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE EQUINE ATTACHMENT NEUROSIS SYNDROME O.C.E.A.N.S
Is usually found in the female and can manifest itself anytime from birth to the golden years. Symptoms may appear any time and may even go dormant in the late teens, but the syndrome frequently re-emerges in later years.
Symptoms vary widely in both number and degree of severity. Allow me
To share some examples which are most prominent in our home.

The afflicted individual:

1. Can smell moldy hay at ten paces, but can’t tell whether milk has
gone bad until it turns chunky.
2. Finds the occasional Buck and Fart session hugely entertaining,
but severely chastises her husband for similar antics.
3. Will spend hours cleaning and conditioning her tack, but wants to
eat on paper plates so there are no dishes.
4. Considers equine gaseous excretions a fragrance.
5. Enjoys mucking out four stalls twice a day, but insists on having a
housekeeper mop the kitchen floor once a week.
6. Will spend an hour combing and trimming an equine mane, but wears a baseball cap so she doesn’t waste time brushing her own hair.
7. Will dig through manure piles daily looking for worms, but does not
fish.
8. Will not hesitate to administer a rectal exam up to her shoulder, but finds cleaning out the Thanksgiving turkey cavity for dressing quite repulsive.
9. By memory can mix eight different supplements in the correct proportions, but can’t make macaroni and cheese that isn’t soupy.
10. Twice a week will spend an hour scrubbing algae from the water
tanks, but has a problem cleaning lasagna out of the casserole dish.
11. Will pick a horse’s nose, and call it cleaning, but becomes verbally violent when her husband picks his.
12. Can sit through a four-hour session of a ground work clinic, but unable to make it through a half-hour episode of Cops.

The spouse of an afflicted victim:

1. Must come to terms with the fact there is no cure, and only slightly effective treatments. The syndrome may be genetic or caused by the inhaling of manure particles which, I propose, have an adverse effect on female hormones.
2. Must adjust the family budget to include equine items hay, veterinarian services, farrier services, riding boots and clothes,
supplements, tack, equine masseuse and acupuncturist – as well as the (mandatory) equine spiritual guide, etc. Once you have identified a
monthly figure, never look at it again. Doing so will cause tightness in your chest, nausea and occasional diarrhea.
3. Must realize that your spouse has no control over this affliction. More often than not, she will deny a problem even exists as denial is
common.
4. Must form a support group. You need to know you’re not alone – and
there’s no shame in admitting your wife has a problem. My support
group, for instance, involves men who truly enjoy Harley Davidsons,
Four-day weekends and lots of scotch. Most times, she is unaware that I am even gone, until the precise moment she needs help getting a
50-pound bag of grain out of the truck.

How do you self-diagnose hemorrhoids?

John asked:

And are there any effective home treatments? I’d rather avoid going to the doctor if possible because I don’t have insurance. Any ideas?

Are Hemorrhoids Curable?

Dami asked:

I am a 16 year old male, and just recently (2 or 3 days) noticed I was itching around my anus area. I then noticed that a small lump or bulge had appeared near my anus, actually very, very near to my anus. I figured it was inflammation and so took some Motrin to help. I’m not sure if it helped or not but the next day the lump seemed to be smaller. I then asked my mum to take a look at it and she told me that she thought it was a Hemorrhoid. I’m not sure what may be causing it, I exercise, and am not having any constipation, but my job does require me to stand up almost 7.5 hours at a time. I was wondering if that could be the reason. Anyway I wanted to know if there was a way to cure the hemorrhoids. So far I am taking a laxative, when I do defecate I use a medicated wipe instead of toilet paper, am taking a Preparation H cream, and I am drinking extra water to help the symptoms, but is there any possible way to cure it.

It hurts to have bowel movements

Sandra asked:

i had a fissure and exterior hemorrhoid about month ago and after doing all recommended treatments they both healed. everything was fine for about a week and now its starting to hurt to have bowl movements from the beginning when it starts to travel out. i have a feeling i have an interior hemorrhoid and do not yet have my insurance cards and need home remedy suggestions while i wait to see a doctor. bowel movements usually happen slowly and hurts. i have an adult rash and to what feels like a rash inside also. when i wipe there is like a total amount of a drop of blood on the toilet paper and there are sensitive lumps on the outer part of the anus. im using preperation h ointment and wipes and drinking lots of liquids and eating a lot of fiber…tho it feels as softer poop does not help. does anyone have any suggestions?

How much does hemmorhoid removal surgery cost?

dark_love52391 asked:

I’ve had a hemorrhoid for two years now. It’s not going away on it’s own, and none of the at home treatments work. I’m on Medicaid right now, and they won’t pay for anything. But, I’m getting on to Blue Cross in January.

They hemmorhoid is part internal, part external. I know that when I go see a proctologist in January, they will let me know how much everything will be, but I need to know if I should start saving money like crazy right now, or if all I’m paying is a small copay.

Thank you.

Is Hemorrhoids Fatal In Dogs if Not Treated?

KatieKoo asked:

My standard short haired chihuahua has what I think is hemorrhoids. What makes me think this is the fact that when I looked him over his anus was protruding out and looked swollen. I am no expert with hemorrhoids but this was my first guess. He has been having straining bowel movements. At first he had diarrhea all the time now he has solid fecal-matter which he struggles to push out. The pieces are broken apart and seem to be connected to a stand of hair every time. I am really sorry if this is TMI but my fiance and I have zip, zero, and zilch money to take him to the vet. So if this sounds like hemorrhoids what should I do to treat it? Are there any at home remedies? If not will he die because of no treatment? Any of you who have experience with your dogs and hemorrhoids I am looking for your answers. Thanks.
I’m dead serious. Neither my fiance and I work. We have no savings. We just hit a crisis not that long ago. I am not an evil person. I love my baby Dinky and I would totally take him to the vet if I had any kind of money. But seriously though. I literally have 0 money between my fiance and I. I feel really bad for my baby but there is nothing I can do for him right now.

1. Sex is a beauty treatment. Scientific tests find that when women make love they produce amounts of the hormone oestrogen, which makes hair shine and skin smooth.

2. Gentle, relaxed lovemaking reduces your chances of suffering dermatitis, skin rashes and blemishes. The sweat produced cleanses the pores and makes your skin glow.

3. Lovemaking can burn up those calories you piled on during that romantic dinner.

4. Sex is one of the safest sports you can take up. It stretches and tones up just about every muscle in the body. It’s more enjoyable than swimming 20 laps, and you don’t need special sneakers!

5. Sex is an instant cure for mild depression. It releases endorphin’s into the bloodstream, producing a sense of euphoria and leaving you with a feeling of well-being.

6. The more sex you have, the more you will be offered. The sexually active body gives off greater quantities of chemicals called pheromones. These subtle sex perfumes drive the opposite sex crazy!

7. Sex is the safest tranquilliser in the world. IT IS 10 TIMES MORE EFFECTIVE THAN VALIUM.

8. Kissing each day will keep the dentist away. Kissing encourages saliva to wash food from the teeth and lowers the level of the acid that causes decay, preventing plaque build-up.

9. Sex actually relieves headaches. A lovemaking session can release the tension that restricts blood vessels in the brain.

10. A lot of lovemaking can unblock a stuffy nose. Sex is a natural antihistamine. It can help combat asthma and hay fever.
